Lage, the nationally known sixteen year-old jazz guitarist and composer
from Santa Rosa, will be bringing his Trio to the Jenner Playhouse on
August 7 to benefit the Russian River “No Low Flow” campaign. Tickets are
$15 and doors open at 7:30. Advance tickets will be available at several
local merchants. Classically trained at the San Francisco Conservatory, Lage has played with many well- known jazz musicians including Carlos Santana and Herbie Hancock. This year he will be performing at the Newport and San Francisco Jazz festivals as well as at the Luther Burbank Center with Eddie Daniels. Other venues where he has performed include the 2000 Grammy Awards, the Monterey Jazz Festival, the San Francisco Jazz Festival, the St. Louis Jazz Festival and The Concord Pavilion. Lage considers the Jenner playhouse one of his favorite local venues. He has played there several times during the Jenner Concert Series held over the past two years. Articles in Down Beat, National Geographic, Planet Jazz, Just Jazz Guitar Player, the San Francisco Chronicle and the Los Angeles Times have featured Julian.
