A significant focus of Foundation Todos Juntos is to assist scholarship programs for Guatemalan students. Only 58% of Guatemalan school-aged children attend school. Of these only one out of 400 graduate in a field in which they can find employment or attend university. The lack of rural schools, the expense of transportation, the cost of registration, study materials and uniforms, along with the need to work throughout childhood all limit access to education. Foundation Todos Juntos is actively involved in assisting educational institutions in highland Guatemala that teach non- Guatemalans the Spanish language or indigenous languages and also educate non-Guatemalans about Latin American culture and history. The Foundation is especially interested in schools that operate as non-profit organizations, that create and operate local charitable projects, and that provide educational assistance to local Guatemalan students.

Our work in Highland Guatemala could not exist without contributions
from generous people. All donations are tax deductible.

295 Quarry Rd., Trinidad, CA 95570, USA ▪ 707.677.3213 ▪ tjuntos@hulmboldt1.com Text Box: We know that the quality of life for families and communities improves when people are given access to education and healthcare. The more we empower people, the greater chance there is for them to overcome poverty and contribute to the world community. We therefore primarily support organizations that help those in need, by providing financial aid for education, healthcare, and social welfare projects.
Todos Juntos primary activities are to assist public health, education and medical projects in highland Guatemala. Practical projects which improve the daily life for Highland residents include building stoves and latrines. The stove projects which we fund build fuel efficient wood burning stoves which reduce accidental injury and death as well as smoke-related illness such as emphysema and cancer. The efficient stoves also reduce strains on the natural environment.
The latrine projects which we fund insure that communities have uncontaminated water sources. This reduces the incidence of deadly bacterial, amoebic, and viral infections. The Foundation also supports medical clinics that provide affordable health care and health education to needy people in the Highlands. These public health projects are often assisted by foreign students who volunteer their time. This work provides them with hands-on experience to better understand the precarious nature of rural Guatemalan life. It also enables foreign students to appreciate the gifts of indigenous culture to the “modern world.”
